19 of the Russian's 21 championships have been won on hard courts

A resurgent Medvedev secured his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.

The Russian, a former number one, has endured a difficult period, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.

His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in particular - caused him falling of the top ten and finally splitting with long-time mentor Gilles Cervara.

Now working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought competitive triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's first title after the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface since that period of 2023.

The win also indicates the Russian has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one various competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my both daughters together, so to win a title is especially meaningful," stated ranked player the champion.

"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, comprising in Halle previously this season.

The player's defensive play style and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had caused some to doubt if his capacity to play at the elite level was concluded.

But the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and play assertively, supported by an improved service.

Medvedev fought back from a break down in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, taking four of the final five points to go ahead.

Both players swapped service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his first ATP Tour victory, took control to create a final set.

The opponent saved 4 initial opportunities in a close third set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Appropriately, Medvedev secured the title with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent failing to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
